In search of the perfect motorcycle action photo

‘All-action’ photos of riders posed on stationary bikes are nothing new; one of the magazines (I think it was Performance Bikes) showed how they’d used a crane to hoist the front wheel up to produce a pic that purported to show a wildly wheelie-ing bike that graced their front cover a year or two earlier.

However, the graphic artists do usually remove all traces of the artificial assistance.

So you can imagine the comments doing the rounds on the bike forums at the moment at this piece of ‘art’ in the Evening Standard a couple of days ago.

Notice the intent expression on the rider’s face.

Notice the knee-out, aggressive body position.

Notice the sidestand!

Remember folks:

“Always remember to e-raise the sidestand before moving off”

(Sorry, couldn’t resist the pun!)
